Klaus Fussmann was born in Nordrhein-Westfalen/Germany in 1938. From 1957 to 1961 he completed the Folkwang School at Essen. Subsequently, he studied at the University of Fine Arts in Berlin from 1962 to 1966. During that time he had his first group shows. Since 1968 he arranged a lot of exhibitions at home and abroad. In 1974 he was appointed professor at the University of Fine Arts in Berlin. Fussmann went on many journeys to Florence, Norway, Iceland, India, Australia, New Zealand and the United States. He was awarded with many art prices. The artist lives and works in Berlin and Schleswig-Holstein in Germany. Klaus Fussmann is considered as one of the most important German artist of contemporary art. He deals with the classical themes of art: portrait, landscapes, flowers, nature mort and interior. He is one of the representatives of new objectivity. His pictures impress with color and expressive. Fussman´s oeuvre includes impasto painted oil paintings, but also etchings, lithographs, linocuts and watercolors.
