Friedrich Aduatz was born in Pula/Istrien in 1907. His family moved to Styria in Austria in 1920. In addition he attended the Art School in Graz. He joined courses of Wilhelm Thöny and got in contact with the Nötscher Kreis (an artist circle in Carinthia with Anton Kolig, Anton Mahringer, Franz Wiegele and Sebastian Isepp). Aduatz was a member of the Hagenbund from 1934 to 1938 and then of the Grazer Sezession. Since 1945 he had also been member of the Vienna Sezession. In addition to his artistic career Friedrich Aduatz worked his whole life as an art teacher. He died in Styria in 1994. Aduatz art work has to be considered as an example of informal art. He had a formative influence on this specific style focusing a unit between abstraction and style. The use of color was very prominent in his paintings.
