Markus Priller was born in Salzburg in 1956. He attended the school of wood and stone sculpture in Innsbruck from 1975 to 1979. Subsequently, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts at Munich until 1985. From 1990 to 1996, he was the assistant of Prof. Hans Ladner at the Academy in Munich. Since 1985 he has been working as freelance artist. The artist lives and works in Attersee. Markus Priller is fascinated by everything archaic. Typical for his sculptures are the very special features which make the sculptures seem as if they were awakened to eternal life. No matter what kind of material, he is able to show vibrations and an apparent weightlessness.
