Kurt Moldovan was born in Vienna in 1918. In 1938 he gave up his job as precision mechanic and started a study at the Vienna School of Applied Arts. After five years conscientious he returned to Vienna in 1950 and started studying at the Academy of Fine Arts. He completed the masterclass at Sergius Pauser and attended the course of evening life drawing at Herbert Boeckl. Moldovan was a co-founder of the important Art-Club. He arranged a lot of single and group shows at home and abroad. Furthermore, he went on many study tours through Europe and also to Mexico and United States. In 1970 he was awarded the Austrian Art Price. The artist died in 1977 in Vienna. Kurt Moldovan´s work includes landscapes, cityscapes, political, mythological and a large variety of fantastic themes which he imported especially into his printmaking, ink- and watercolor work. Works in oil on canvas are very rare of Moldovan.
